Application crash via quoted-parameter length overflow
Published Apr 3, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Integer overflow in GNOME libsoup before 3.6.1 allows remote attackers to crash applications via crafted header parameters. append_param_quoted miscalculates the buffer length while escaping quoted parameter values, causing a buffer under-read when the size arithmetic overflows. No authentication or user interaction is required, but exploitation has high complexity and requires an application path that passes attacker-controlled values into the function.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
