Stored XSS via unescaped repository descriptions
Published Jul 23, 2025 · Updated Jul 23, 2025
Stored XSS in GoHarbor Harbor before 2.11.3, 2.12.0-rc1 through 2.12.3, and 2.13.0-rc1 allows remote authenticated users to run script. UpdateRepository stores the submitted repository description directly, without HTML escaping, before the information tab renders its Markdown content. A user with repository-update access must save the payload and another user must view the information tab; the script then runs in the viewer's Harbor origin and can read accessible data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.12.0-rc1, < 2.12.4-rc1
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.13.0-rc1, < 2.13.1-rc1
- Affected versionversion=<= 2.4.0-rc1.1, < 2.11.3
