Account takeover via unsanitized iframe srcdoc content
Published Jun 4, 2025 · Updated Jun 4, 2025
Stored XSS in FreshRSS before 1.26.2 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts through a crafted feed entry. The lib/lib_rss.php feed sanitizer preserves the iframe srcdoc attribute, allowing nested script source markup to load the attacker's UserJS in the victim's session. Exploitation requires an attacker account, control of a subscribed feed, and victim viewing; an administrator victim enables user deletion or server code execution.
