Prototype pollution via noncomputed __proto__ property
Published Apr 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
Prototype pollution in estree-util-value-to-estree before 3.3.3 allows attackers to alter generated object prototypes via crafted values. The valueToEstree property builder emitted a proto key as a noncomputed object property, so executing the generated code assigned the object's prototype instead of creating a data property. Reachability depends on a consuming application passing attacker-controlled values into the library and executing its generated ESTree; the demonstrated consequence is unintended prototype modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
