CVE-2025-31725Network attack vector

Password disclosure via cleartext job configuration storage

Published Apr 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 3, 2025

Cleartext storage in Jenkins monitor-remote-job Plugin 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read job passwords. The plugin serializes configured remote-job passwords directly into each job's config.xml on the controller without encryption. Reading them through Jenkins requires Item/Extended Read permission, while filesystem disclosure requires access to the controller's files; impact is limited to the stored passwords.
