Local denial of service via bootloader overflow
Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Aug 1, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in UNISOC bootloaders for Android 13 through Android 15 allows local users to interrupt device operation. The bootloader omits a bounds check before a write, allowing the operation to extend beyond the stack buffer. Local access is required, but no execution privileges or user interaction are needed; successful exploitation causes a local denial of service.
