CVE-2025-31702Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Privilege escalation via authenticated path traversal

Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025

Authorization bypass in Dahua IPC and SD firmware built before July 1, 2025 allows remote authenticated users to read admin-only data. A low-privileged HTTP request traverses paths to read a file holding password-recovery secrets, from which an administrator recovery token can be derived. A normal operator or viewer account is required; the token permits an administrator-password reset, while systems with only an administrator account are unaffected.
