Cross-site scripting via unsanitized link attributes

Cross-site scripting in Drupal Link field display mode formatter before 1.6.0 allows attackers to execute script through link attributes. The formatter renders attacker-controlled Link field attributes through Drupal core link-element handling, which does not sufficiently sanitize those attributes. Exploitation requires a path that permits adding specific attributes, typically edit access through core web services or contributed or custom code; viewing the rendered link then executes the script.
