Cross-site scripting in Drupal SpamSpan filter before 3.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via crafted email-link attributes. The filter preserves untrusted HTML data attributes while converting an email link into span elements, and its JavaScript later reconstructs the link without sanitizing those attributes. Exploitation requires permission or another path to place crafted span elements in filtered page content and a user to view it, enabling script execution in that user's browser context.
