CVE-2025-31676Network attack vector

Authenticated TFA bypass via unrestricted code guessing

Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Jun 19, 2025

Weak authentication in Drupal Email TFA 2.0.0 through 2.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to bypass email TFA by brute force. The verification-code handler accepts repeated guesses without sufficient brute-force protection, but Drupal has not disclosed the responsible function or counter logic. A valid username and password are required; successful guessing completes login as the compromised account.
