CVE-2025-3163Public exploit

Local code execution via unsafe version.py evaluation

Published Apr 3, 2025 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Code injection in InternLM LMDeploy 0.7.0 and 0.7.1 allows local users to execute Python code through a modified version.py file. The docs/en/conf.py configuration reads the entire version file and passes it to compile and exec instead of extracting only the version value. Exploitation requires write access to lmdeploy/version.py and execution of the documentation configuration, after which injected code runs with that process's permissions.
