Denial of service via repeated fragment validation

Denial of service in Apollo Compiler before 1.27.0 allows remote attackers to exhaust application resources with crafted GraphQL queries. During query validation, named fragment definitions are revisited for each nested fragment spread instead of once per operation, causing exponential traversal. No authentication or user interaction is required when a consuming application exposes this validation path; the consequence is service interruption only.
