Partial token disclosure via exception-local rendering
Published Apr 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
Sensitive-information exposure in Canonical get-workflow-version-action 1.0.0 allows attackers to read a partial GITHUB_TOKEN in job logs. The Typer exception formatter includes local variables in a failed step's traceback, so a truncated GH_TOKEN value bypasses full-secret redaction. The github-token input and a step failure are required; repository-log readers can use the token only before job completion, with effects limited by its permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
