Stored XSS via nonce-free settings update
Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSRF in NewsBoard Post and RSS Scroller 1.2.12 and earlier allows remote attackers to store scripts through a forged request. The settings-update handler accepts a forged administrative request without valid nonce verification and stores attacker-controlled script content. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open an attacker-controlled link or page; the forged action changes settings and persists script content.
