Hostname disclosure via undisclosed NetworkExtension code
Published May 12, 2025 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Information disclosure in NetworkExtension in Apple macOS before 15.5 allows local users to observe new network-connection hostnames. Apple has not published the vulnerable NetworkExtension code path or how it exposes hostname data; the advisory states only that the code was removed. A locally running app is required, and the reported consequence is limited to learning hostnames for newly created connections.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
