CVE-2025-31200Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via malformed APAC channel layouts

Published Apr 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 2, 2026

Memory corruption in CoreAudio across affected Apple operating systems allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted audio. The APAC decoder allocates a remapping array from one channel-layout count but iterates it using a separately supplied count, causing out-of-bounds access when the values differ. Exploitation requires the target to process the malicious media stream; Apple reported targeted exploitation on iOS before 18.4.1.
