Arbitrary file read via transform query bypass
Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Jan 23, 2026
Improper access control in affected Vite development servers allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through crafted query strings. The transform middleware applied serving-access checks to raw and URL requests but omitted inline queries and failed to recognize raw followed by import. Exploitation requires an app exposed with --host or server.host and user interaction that triggers the request; the consequence is read-only file disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
