Stored XSS via unsanitized image EXIF title
Published Apr 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in OpenEMR before 7.0.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via an image EXIF title. The Patient Image feature places the attacker-controlled EXIF title into rendered web output without neutralizing executable markup. Exploitation requires high-privileged access to supply the crafted image and active interaction by another user, exposing data and permitting actions in that user's browser session.
