Administrator-level script execution via stored injection
Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in WP Editor.md 10.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into WordPress content. Patchstack has not disclosed the affected input, code locus, or missing neutralization step that causes the stored payload to render as executable content. Administrator privileges are required to plant the payload, and successful exploitation requires another user to open the affected content, exposing that user's browser session to script execution.
