Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG task attachments
Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Project Manager 2.6.22 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through SVG task attachments. Task-discussion uploads accept SVG content without sufficient sanitization, and attachment responses expose that content without safe output escaping. Subscriber-level access plus project permissions granted by an administrator is required, and the script runs when a user opens the uploaded SVG.
