Administrative credential disclosure via SMTP and LDAP passback
Published May 19, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Credential exposure in Canon production printers and office multifunction printers allows remote authenticated users to obtain SMTP and LDAP secrets. The passback flaw exposes authentication information configured for outbound SMTP and LDAP connections, but Canon has not published the affected function or exact triggering request. Administrative privileges on the device are required, and the reported consequence is access to connected mail or directory services without device data loss or interruption.
