Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jul 29, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Elementor Website Builder 3.29.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The elementor-element shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and emits them without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access and Element Caching must both be present; the injected script runs when a visitor opens the affected page.
