Local data disclosure and service interruption
Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Information disclosure and denial of service in Oracle VM VirtualBox 7.1.6 allow local users to read data and hang or crash the hypervisor. Oracle identifies the affected locus only as the Core component and has not published the operation that mishandles attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires a low-privileged account on the host infrastructure, requires no user interaction, and provides no reported data-modification capability.
