Authenticated server hang or repeatable crash
Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server allows remote authenticated users to crash or hang the server through multiple network protocols. Oracle identifies Server: Components Services as the affected locus but has not disclosed the malformed input or incorrect operation that exhausts resources. Exploitation requires high privileges and high attack complexity; affected releases are 8.0.0 through 8.0.41, 8.4.0 through 8.4.4, and 9.0.0 through 9.2.0, with availability loss limited to a server hang or repeatable crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.0.41
- Affected versionversion=8.4.0 <=8.4.4

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
