Credential disclosure via plaintext configuration logging
Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Information exposure in Apache Pulsar IO Kafka connectors before 3.0.11, 3.3.6, and 4.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to read Kafka credentials. The source connector, sink connector, and adaptor sink write sensitive Kafka configuration properties into application logs without redaction. Access to those logs is required, and the exposed values disclose credentials used to authenticate to Kafka.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.3.0 <3.0.11
- Affected versionversion=3.1.0 <3.3.6
