SYSTEM code execution via junction-following folder deletion
Published Jun 17, 2025 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Link-following in Trend Micro Deep Security Agent 20.0 before 20.0.1-25770 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. The Anti-Malware Solution Platform follows an attacker-created Windows junction, causing its privileged service to delete a chosen folder. Low-privileged code execution on the Windows host is required; the folder deletion can be leveraged into arbitrary SYSTEM code execution.
