Arbitrary file download via unrestricted archive paths
Published Mar 25, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Path traversal in WP01 2.6.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to download arbitrary server files via crafted archive paths. The make_archive() function lacks a capability check and sufficiently restrictive path validation, allowing chosen server paths to be packaged for download. Wordfence identifies the issue as the same flaw as CVE-2025-2267 and requires Subscriber-level access, while Patchstack rates it unauthenticated.
