CVE-2025-3055Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via avatar path traversal

Published Jun 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Path traversal in weDevs WP User Frontend Pro 4.1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete server files via an avatar value. The Profile_Form update path accepts an unsanitized avatar value, and Posting_Profile::delete_avatar_ajax() converts its URL to a filesystem path before calling unlink() without confining it to the uploads directory. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; deleting wp-config.php forces WordPress into setup mode and enables site takeover through an attacker-controlled database.
