Authenticated service interruption via unbounded CPU allocation
Published May 29, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Resource exhaustion in IBM Db2 11.5.0 through 11.5.9 and 12.1.0 through 12.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. Q replication allocates CPU resources without adequate limits, but IBM has withheld the triggering operations and replication steps. The flaw requires authenticated network access and Q replication use; the documented consequence is availability loss only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=11.5.0 <=11.5.9
- Affected versionversion=12.1.0 <=12.1.1
