File disclosure via insufficient shortcut validation
Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
A permissions issue in Shortcuts in Apple macOS and iPadOS allows attackers to read files normally inaccessible to the app. Apple has not published the affected validation path or the untrusted shortcut input that bypasses its file-access permission checks. Exploitation requires a shortcut to run in the Shortcuts app, and the demonstrated consequence is local file disclosure rather than file modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
