Protected data access via pasteboard sandbox bypass
Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Authorization bypass in Foundation on macOS before 15.4 allows local users to access protected user data through an app. The system pasteboard sandbox policy permits the app to access data outside its allowed boundary, but Apple has not disclosed the responsible API or policy rule. An attacker must cause a locally installed app to request protected pasteboard content; the reported consequence is protected user-data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
