Authenticated code execution via unvalidated pic upload
Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Project Worlds Online Time Table Generator 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The /admin/updatestudent.php handler takes the original name from the pic upload and passes its temporary file to move_uploaded_file in a web-accessible student image directory without type or extension validation. A low-privilege student session is sufficient; requesting the uploaded PHP file executes attacker-supplied code on the web server.
