Type confusion in Microsoft Scripting Engine on affected Windows releases allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted URL. The engine accesses a resource using a type incompatible with the type used to initialize or allocate it, corrupting memory during script processing. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted URL; successful code runs in the user's security context.
