CVE-2025-30388Public exploit

Code execution via malformed EMF+ rectangle processing

Published May 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows and Office allows remote attackers to execute code when a user opens a crafted EMF+ metafile. GDI+ SetTSClipEPR::Play accepts invalid RECT objects from an EmfPlusSetTSClip record, letting later rendering operations access memory outside a heap buffer. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled content and can execute code in the affected application's context.
