Invalid-pointer release in Microsoft Excel allows attackers to execute code locally after a crafted workbook is opened. Microsoft identifies an invalid pointer or reference release in Excel but has not published the affected parser, function, or object lifecycle. Opening the crafted workbook is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in the user context.
