Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked password reset
Published Mar 27, 2025 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Broken authentication in WeGIA before 3.2.6 allows remote attackers to reset any user's password through control.php. The alterarSenha route accepts id_pessoa and a new password without requiring a session, authorizing the target account, or validating senha_antiga. An unauthenticated network request can reset an administrator password and enable subsequent account takeover.
