Cross-tab title disclosure via stale shortcut listener
Published Apr 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Information disclosure in Mozilla Firefox before 137 allows context-dependent attackers to send a prior tab's title to an AI provider. The shared AI Chat Shortcuts element retains its first tab's mouseover listener and browser reference, so later shortcut use builds the prompt from stale tab state. The opt-in chatbot must be enabled, and a user must invoke title-bearing shortcuts in two tabs; only the earlier document title is disclosed.
