CVE-2025-30348Network attack vector

Service interruption via quadratic QDom XML serialization

Published Mar 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025

Inefficient XML serialization in The Qt Company Qt Framework before 6.8.0 allows attackers to interrupt service via long QDom text segments. QDomNode::save() reaches encodeText, which repeatedly copies and replaces XML string sections inline while relocating later data, producing quadratic work. Exploitation requires an application to serialize attacker-controlled long text or attributes with QDom at a rate and size sufficient to exhaust processing capacity.
