Stored XSS via unsanitized link event attributes
Published Mar 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
Stored XSS in formatted descriptions in Intevation OpenSlides before 4.2.5 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. The rich-text editor accepts event-handler attributes such as onmouseover on links even though it encodes script elements when reflecting content. An authenticated user must save crafted content and another user must hover over its link, executing code in the victim's session with limited confidentiality and integrity impact.
