Improper PDF filtering in Meta WhatsApp Cloud API before late 2024 allows remote authenticated users to access messaging apps via crafted PDFs. The cloud service accepts crafted PDF content without blocking elements that defeat a sandbox protection mechanism. Successful zero-click attacks installed BIGPRETZEL-associated Android malware and exposed messaging applications without user interaction.
