DLL hijacking in the WD Discovery Installer before 5.3 on Windows allows local users to execute arbitrary code during installation. The installer loads a crafted DLL placed in its search path instead of the intended library. Exploitation requires local file placement and an administrator to run the affected installer, after which the DLL executes in the installer's context.
