CVE-2025-30205Network attack vector

Admin credential disclosure via unskipped tracing parameter

Published Mar 24, 2025 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Sensitive-data logging in kanidm-provision before 1.2.0 allows attackers to read provisioned admin credentials from system logs. The optional Kanidm recover-account patch instruments handle_admin_recover_account at info level without skipping its password parameter, so tracing records the password. Exposure requires the supplied patchset, provisioning of admin or idm_admin credentials, info-level logging, and access to the resulting logs; no other credentials are affected.
