Stored XSS via unrestricted workspace link schemes
Published Mar 19, 2025 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Stored XSS in Jenkins AnchorChain Plugin 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted workspace links. The post-build step reads a selected workspace text file and creates sidebar links without restricting URL schemes, so javascript: values remain executable. An attacker must control the configured input file, and another user must follow the stored link for script to run in the Jenkins origin.
