CVE-2025-30194Network attack vector

Service crash via double-free in DoH provider

Published Apr 29, 2025 · Updated Jun 20, 2025

Use-after-free in PowerDNS DNSdist 1.9.0 through 1.9.8 allows remote attackers to crash the service via a crafted DoH exchange. The nghttp2 DoH provider double-frees memory while processing the crafted exchange, causing an illegal memory access. The flaw is reachable without authentication only when incoming DoH uses nghttp2, and the reported consequence is a process crash without system compromise.
