CVE-2025-30175Network attack vector

Unauthenticated service crash via integer overflow

Published May 13, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

An out-of-bounds write in Siemens UMC and its integrations allows remote attackers to crash affected services via a crafted integer. The ixstream::ReadString routine in um.serlib.dll accepts an attacker-controlled 32-bit length whose overflow drives a write beyond the destination buffer. Reachability requires network access to a UMC service on TCP port 4002 or 4004; exploitation interrupts the service without disclosed data access or code execution.
