CVE-2025-30160Network attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded preference decompression

Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Redlib before 0.36.0 allows remote attackers to crash an instance via encoded preference restoration. The unauthenticated encoded_restore handler base2048-decodes an encoded_prefs form value and DEFLATE-decompresses it without input, time, or output limits. Network access to the public restoration route is sufficient; a decompression bomb exhausts memory, degrading or crashing the service without reported data disclosure or modification.
