Unauthorized nearby network access via immutable default credentials
Published Mar 18, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Use of default credentials in GNET G-ONX dashcams allows physically proximate attackers to join the device Wi-Fi network without authorization. The wireless configuration continuously broadcasts a fixed SSID protected by a fixed password that device owners cannot replace. Physical proximity to the dashcam is required; a successful connection exposes traffic from associated devices, including a paired smartphone, to sniffing.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
