CVE-2025-30117Network attack vector

Unauthorized settings control via MAC spoofing

Published Mar 18, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025

Authorization bypass in Forvia Hella HELLA Driving Recorder DR 820 allows remote attackers to read data and alter device settings. The pairing mechanism trusts a previously registered client's MAC address, so address discovery and spoofing unlock the settings interface. Access to the dashcam's Wi-Fi network is required; successful abuse exposes user and vehicle data and permits footage deletion, recording shutdown, factory reset, and battery-protection disablement.
