Unauthorized settings access via hardcoded APK credentials
Published Mar 18, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
Hard-coded credentials in Forvia Hella's HELLA DR 820 Android app allow remote attackers to access device settings through its network. The Hella Bulb 1.3 APK stores cleartext credentials for the port 9091 API and port 9092 RTSP service, while the API accepts a crafted TibetList command with the fixed settings credential. An attacker must first join the dashcam's wireless network; the credentials then expose settings and the video-stream service without user interaction.
