Reflected XSS via crafted search URL parameters
Published May 28, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Reflected XSS in Best Practical RT 4.4.0 through 4.4.7 and 5.0.0 through 5.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute script via search URLs. Search-page handling places crafted URL parameters into generated HTML without adequate neutralization; no affected parameter or template is public. A victim must open the crafted search URL, after which script runs in that victim's RT browser context and can act with the session's accessible data and privileges.
